I’ve been a cross stitching fiend for the past thirty days. I’m not sure how or why it’s been like this, but I am so excited to finish this project. It amazes me much I’ve finished so far. This is by far the quickest I’ve ever done any project.
I might even finish it by the end of the year…
But I don’t want to get ahead of myself. Things happen. Priorities shift. My desire to actually finish it may wane and then before I know it it’s 2020 and I still haven’t finished it, but I don’t think so.
What I love about this project – and other cross stitches – the most is that it focuses my thoughts. There is something about making tiny x’s that slows my mind long enough to sort through the chaos. And I’m able to appreciate slowing down now. Maybe that’s the difference.
Maybe appreciation makes all the difference in the world for everything. If we can appreciate what we have, focus on that then we won’t get so upset when things don’t go our way. Maybe appreciation makes it possible to not nitpick at everyone’s faults. Maybe appreciation stops us from stirring the pot and causing more tension – especially this time of year.
Yep, that works for me. Appreciation is my next stitch.
