Very little is needed to make a happy life – Marcus Aurelius

fungus 2 MAR.J. and I went to Costco yesterday and, well, it hit home that the holiday season is right around the corner. We try to time our visits so the store isn’t so busy, but sometimes it’s unavoidable. As we walked in the front door I noticed they had their holiday hours posted.

Holiday hours. A mad dash to find the best deals on items most of us don’t want and definitely don’t need. All the while telling ourselves we’re not stressed out.

Breathe in… Breathe out…

It’s not too late to not let anxiety ruin the season. It’s not too late to focus on what’s important. It’s not too late to look around and enjoy the autumn season. It’s not too late to be thankful…

Our happiness, our peace, our joy comes from within. We have the power to make this, the busiest time of the year, a cause for celebration no matter what happens around us. I know it’s hard. I became panicky just looking at the holiday hour sign and then dealing with all the people.

But the power is ours. Here’s to a stress-free, happy, wonderful holiday season!
